We have a customer with a dramatic need for solar. We are going to lower his electric bill by over $800 per month and get him a delicious tax credit and just when everything is set to go we needed to pump the brakes! Once our Project Manager got a look at where the solar was going he refused to move ahead. We had a roof that was certified for 5 years and we wanted to put many thousands of dollars in solar panels on top of a questionable roof.
Here at Top Rank Construction Services we know that our reputation rides on the last job we did and we were ready to do this one! We could have moved ahead (many contractors would have) and in five years we could get paid to do the job again and have good reason for doing it like we did. The other option was to look at it from the clients point of view and have the difficult conversation about a new roof. Since this was a commercial property this was not going to be a cheap job but he knew that we were right.
The best part was that in our office is our Manager named Kandy who had the idea of pushing the new roof and additional insulation and attic venting through Ygrene. This made the customer smile really big because he got financing through Ygrene, he will be able to defer payments through Ygrene and it was going to result in no additional paperwork for the client. We are back on track, the customer is thrilled, his tenants are thrilled and his accountant is elated! Tax credits, rebates and all done for the 2015 tax season. I love it when a plan comes together!
