As Summer sets in early a report crossed my desk that reveals that over 700 million new air conditioners will be installed worldwide. This means that some regions of the world that only recently got reliable electricity will now have reliable air conditioning. This also shows that what was once a luxury that only Americans could afford is now within the reach of many.
Here at Top Rank we are coming off one of the earliest and busiest times in recent memory. People who took the time to have their systems tunes up are exceedingly happy and many of those that delayed are kicking themselves. In times like this no one is sad to see a Top Rank Technician show up!
For people who still do not yet have air conditioning the news is very good. According to the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory the world will install 700 million new air conditioners between now and 2030 and 1.6 billion new air conditioners by the year 2050. In terms of greenhouse gas that is like adding several new countries to the world. To address this issue the Advanced Cooling Challenge is being held in San Francisco at the 7th Clean Energy ministry which is a global meeting of National Energy Policy leaders who seek solutions to the greenhouse gas issue.
