It appears that we have become almost numb as a result of the fires we see on the news every evening. To many of us it almost seems impossible and yet it’s happening with dire consequences. People are losing homes, memories, lifestyles, pictures, heirlooms and even lives.
This past week our President Natalie took a trailer of supplies donated by friends and customers of Top Rank that included clothing for adults and children, toys and a lot of pet food. There was a lady there who talked about her 5 year old son who was wearing girls shoes but she was so thankful because he had shoes. They left their home in such a panic that they had the clothing on their back and nothing more. This is the ultimate example of starting over for these people. There were a few tears and a lot of resolve to rebuild their homes and their lives.
I personally applaud Natalie for taking this on. She did this will minimal fanfare and the reason she did it was the underlying idea “what if that was me and my family”. If you know her you can hear her saying this. Her capacity to help is tremendous and we are proud of her. She wants to do more and she will ask… We promise.
